Croatia, Holland, Spain and Portugal all have advanced to the next phase of Euro 2008 still having to play one more match in the group phase. On the other side of spectrum we have Italy, France, Romania, Sweden, Russia, Czech Republic and Turkey all with possibilities to advance but nothing secure yet.
Croatia, Holland, Spain and Portugal are really playing top football this year at the Euro 2008 and unsurprisingly have found themselves going to the quarter finals. Croatia started their Euro 2008 campaign a bit loose only managing to beat Austria 1:0 nothing in a very tight match, only to outclass Germany and win 2:1. Holland is the team to beat this year, no doubt about that with all parts of the team functioning perfect. Holland managed to truly outclass The world champion Italy and world vice champion France 3:0 and 4:1. The scary part is that it does not seem there were trying their hardest in those matches. Portugal is playing top football and their 2:0 and 3:1 wins against Turkey and Czech Republic are proof. Spain has a dream start with a 4:1 win against Russia with much help from their star forward Villa scoring a hat-trick. Their next match was a lot tougher against Sweden as once again David Villa came to rescue with a last second goal and giving Spain the final 2:1 win. This is by far the best European Championship where many teams and players all showed themselves in the best light. Players to watch out for are David Villa (4 goals), Luka Modric, Cristiano Ronaldo, Ricardo Quaresma, Turkey's wonder boy Arda and Holland's Wesley Snejder.
